- Manage plates and material transfers between team and office and with clients.
- Scheduling, prioritizing and tracking internal technical assignments and project details.
- Organize dailies, rounds and project meetings.
- Organize and setup media for client review sessions.
- Ensure MANTIS(project management tool) statuses and task assignments are kept up to date.
- Coordinate and package shot deliveries including submission documentation.
- Record all shot notes whether from clients, dailies and rounds.
- Organize client reference material received and sent
- Ensuring effective communication and continual team updates.
- Establishing quality control and project closure processes.
- Assume responsibility for the production management of the film VFX department, working with HR to maintain and grow the crew
- Work closely with the VFX Lead, VFX Supervisor(s) and VFX coordinators to ensure on time and on budget delivery for all projects
- Manage client interactions regarding schedules, quotes, change orders and meetings
- Work with the VFX Lead and senior management to seek out potential new business opportunities and secure this for the company
- Plan and schedule facility resources to specify the most optimal approach to every project
- Report progress back to the senior management on a daily and weekly basis
- Guide and mentor the VFX coordinators
- At least 3-5 years’ experience producing high-end film or TV visual effects projects
- Significant experience managing clients, bids, invoices and client meetings
- A track record of bringing in new business via their client contact list
- Be able to fully understand the client’s requirements and vision and work with our VFX Lead and Supervisors to help ensure that is delivered
- Solid knowledge of the VFX production process
- Flexible thinking and an ability to adapt to changing requirements and unexpected situations
- A calm and mature personality, one that is able to defuse tensions and manage difficult situations
- A good understanding of the wider film and TV production process
- Up to date industry knowledge of production tracking systems and workflow tools
- Any on set time or production experience is a valuable additional skill
- A strong and wide background in creating VFX over a range of disciplines (such as modeling, texturing, lighting)
- Ability to meet deadlines as set out in the schedule and as briefed by the VFX producer and VFX supervisor
- Work well with all teammates and leads to generate images at a Hollywood level quality
- Responsible attitude and self motivated drive in their work
- Strong, clear and concise communicator
- Have proficiency in Maya, Nuke and other related CG software packages
- 3+ years experience as an FX artist on feature films or long form episodic TV series
- Significant experience with fluid dynamics, destruction, particles, cloth/hair/fur, pyro simulations
- Able to deliver solutions for demanding FX problems proactively and independently, and provide support where needed
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Good eye for composition, light, and colour
- Proficient in Houdini
- Strong lighting and rendering skills
- Nuke compositing skills
- Shader writing skills
- Coding/Scripting experience
- Have a good knowledge of art with rich experience in using lighting to build atmosphere and a thorough knowledge of Maya production and workflow. Work independently with a clear-cut vision and great passion.
- Be able to communicate well with FX supervisors delivering constructive ideas and control story emotion through the lighting.
- Be proficient in common texturing software, such as Photoshop.
- Be good at traditional light making and main render software such as Arnold and Mental Ray, or similar, and be able to render animation of high quality.
- Have a professional philosophy of layer rendering and shader in terms of physical property that are commonly used and be able to give post-production team compositing support.
- Production experience in live-action films is preferred and candidates with artistic background will be a favoured.
