- Knowledge in Maya and 3D Equalizer will be an advantage, or similar industry standard matchmove software
- Strong understanding of photography and the effects of different lenses on perspective.

- Possess creative and artistic qualities, along with appropriate technical skills to achieve such qualities
- A passion for acting and keen observational skills that allow you to fully understand how and why an entity moves the way it does

- Ability to work under tight deadlines, deliver work on schedule
- a good understanding of techniques and methods of roto and plate preparation and paint
- an excellent eye for detail
- a positive attitude, excellent communication skills and able to work well within a team under tight deadlines
- experience with node based compositing systems such as Nuke
- Ability to make artistic judgements according to the Director’s or Supervisor’s instructions
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Extensive knowledge of current compositing software such as Nuke
- Strong team player; ability to work closely with lighters, look developers and effects artists to achieve the desired look for a shot
- A keen eye for composition, colour, lighting and shadows
- Good knowledge of keying, colour balancing, rotoscoping, image painting and correction techniques.
- Able to take direction and be willing to address constructive feedback
- Able to deliver work on schedule, and work calmly and efficiently under pressure
- Strong sense of light and shadow demonstrated by a portfolio of artwork, photography, theatre, film and/or CG work
- Good knowledge of colour theory, including thorough knowledge of art history
- Able to follow design references and have sympathy with a wide range of styles
- Be able to light characters and environments, interiors and exteriors according to various conditions
- A strong understanding of composition and the ability to enhance mood through the use of lighting
- A good working knowledge of computer animation packages (especially Maya), 2D paint software, and rending programmes (Arnold)
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills
