Job Description The Matchmove artist is responsible for the replication of the real set, camera and camera move within the computer for later use by animators and technical directors. This includes manipulating both 2D and 3D elements, while maintaining accurate camera perspective. Other than camera tracking, the Matchmove artist will also need to object track and body track when CG elements are involved.   Job Requirements

1. Knowledge in Maya and 3D Equalizer will be an advantage, or similar industry standard matchmove software
2. Strong understanding of photography and the effects of different lenses on perspective.
3. A good work ethic, meticulous, organized and have a keen eye for detail
4. Strong problem-solving and communication skills
5. Able to take direction and address constructive feedback
6. Able to deliver on schedule, working calmly and efficiently under pressure while adhering to the procedure and requirements of a particular studio, production or pipeline.

Job Description Roto and prep/paint artists are required to be able to create articulated rotoscope and garbage mattes, remove tracking markers, wires, seams and rigs. They must be able to do photo-real animated paint cleanup, working closely with compositors and supervisors. This is typically an entry path into a career in compositing.   Job Requirements

Job Description The compositors construct the final images by combining layers of previously-created content, including rendered computer images, effects, graphics, live action and static background plates.   Job Requirements

1. Ability to make artistic judgements according to the Director’s or Supervisor’s instructions

Job Description The Lighting / Look Development Artist needs to ensure that there is a consistency in lighting, colour balance and mood between the various elements of a shot or scene. They generate CG that looks photorealistic, and which seamlessly matches the live action, by adding lighting which creates atmosphere, tone and depth to a scene.   Job Requirements

1. Strong sense of light and shadow demonstrated by a portfolio of artwork, photography, theatre, film and/or CG work
2. Good knowledge of colour theory, including thorough knowledge of art history
3. Able to follow design references and have sympathy with a wide range of styles
4. Be able to light characters and environments, interiors and exteriors according to various conditions
5. A strong understanding of composition and the ability to enhance mood through the use of lighting
6. A good working knowledge of computer animation packages (especially Maya), 2D paint software, and rending programmes (Arnold)
